1. 一曲ごとに広がる壮大な旅
今回は、Yesの「Roundabout」を使用していきます！
Yesはイギリスのプログレッシブ・ロックバンドです。
1968年に結成され、今もなお世界中のリスナーを魅了し続けています。
今回紹介する「Roundabout」は、彼らの中でも特に有名な曲です。
複雑な構成と圧倒的な演奏技術は、まさにプログレッシブ・ロックの象徴です！
Yesの音楽は、壮大なコンセプト、幻想的な歌詞、そして高度な演奏力が魅力です。
ひとつの曲の中にまったく異なる展開が盛り込まれていながらも、全体として違和感なくまとまっています。

①charge
charge（動）：〔支払い・代価・代金を〕請求する、〔商品を〕つけ［クレジットカード］で買う
discharge（動）：排出する、放出する、送り出す、発射する
overcharge（動）： 高過ぎる値段を付ける、〔バッテリーを〕充電し過ぎる、過充電する
【文章例】
1. charge（動）： How much do they charge for this service?
2. discharge（動）：Raw sewage was discharged into the river.
3. overcharge（動）：The restaurant overcharged us for our meals.
【意味】
1. 彼らはこのサービスにいくら請求しているのですか？
2. 未処理の汚水が川へ排出された。
3. そのレストランは私たちの食事に対して法外な金額を請求しました。
②distant
distant（動）：遠い（所にある）、遠く離れた（所にある）、距離がある、遠く［遠方］への［からの］
distantly（副）：遠くに、遠く、遠縁で、隔たって、離れて、冷淡に、冷ややかに、よそよそしく
distance（名）： 〔2カ所の間の〕距離、間隔、隔たり、遠距離、離れた場所、〔ある行為に必要な〕近さ
【文章例】
1. distant（動）： It’s exciting to travel to distant places.
2. distantly（副）：His parents treated him distantly since he left home.
3. distance（名）：The distance between our houses is not far.
【意味】
1. 遠い所への旅はワクワクする。
2. 彼が家を出て以来、彼の両親は彼を遠巻きに扱いました。
3. 私達の家の間の距離は遠くありません。
③partly
partly（副）：〔全体に対して〕部分的に、ある程度まで
partial（形）：部分的な、一部の、一部分の、不完全な、不公平な、えこひいきする、偏愛する
partially（副）： 〔完全ではなく〕部分的に、一部分は、不十分に、不公平に
【文章例】
1. partly（副）： The project was successful partly because of her leadership.
2. partial（形）：We only have partial information about the incident.
3. partially（副）：The restaurant was only partially full on a weekday evening.
【意味】
1. そのプロジェクトが成功したのは、部分的には彼女のリーダーシップのおかげだ。
2. その事件について、私たちは部分的な情報しか持っていない。
3. 平日の夕方にレストランに客はそれほどいませんでした。
