みなさんこんにちは！はるゆきです！
7月になりましたね！
学生さんに限って言えば夏休みも近づいてきて、まとまった時間が確保しやすいとは思いますが、どのような予定がおありでしょうか！
現在、海外留学を検討していてIELTSの受験を控えている方々は、夏休みを使ってまとまった学習時間の確保をしていらっしゃいます。

それでは本日もボキャブラリーレッスン、始めていきます！
1. イギリス・ウェイクフィールド出身の3兄弟バンド
今回はThe Cribsの「Men’s Needs」を使用していきます！
2001年にジャーマン兄弟によって結成されたバンドです。
2004年にインディーでリリースしたシングルが話題になり、瞬く間にスター街道を駆け巡り、同年8月に日本の某大型フェスにて初来日を果たしています。
今回使用する楽曲は、私が学生時代に聞いていた大好きな曲ですが、どうやら最近一部SNSでバズり、再度脚光を浴びているようです！嬉しい、、、！

①impress
impress（動）：〔人に〕感銘［強い影響］を与える、〔人を〕感動［感心］させる
impression（名）：〔漠然とした～という〕感じ、感想、気持ち
impressive（形）：印象的な、感動的な、素晴らしい
【文章例】
1. impress（動）：I was very impressed by her piano playing.
2. impression（名）：That was my impression.
3. impressive（形）：The athlete’s performance was very impressive.
【意味】
1. 私は、彼女のピアノ演奏に非常に感銘を受けた。
2. 私もそんな気がしたのよ。
3. その選手のパフォーマンスは非常に印象的だった。
②need
need（動）：〔～を〕必要とする
needful（形）：入用な、必要な
needless（形）：不必要な、無用の
【文章例】
1. need（動）：We need a global society to support our global economy.
2. needful（形）：What price did you have to pay for your needful thing?
3. needless（形）：This is a needless expense.
【意味】
1. 私たちのグローバルな経済を支える、グローバルな社会が必要です。
2. 必要な物のためにいくら払ったの？
3. これは無駄な出費です。
③greed
greed（名）：強欲、貪欲、食い意地、欲張り、拝金主義
greediness（名）：〔過度の〕食い意地、〔金銭などに対する〕貪欲、過度の欲望
greedily（副）：欲張って、ガツガツと、貪欲に
【文章例】
1. greed（名）：She was blinded by her greed for money.
2. greediness（名）：Greediness is not a desirable trait.
3. greedily（副）：The dog greedily ate the bone.
【意味】
1. 彼女はお金への欲に目がくらんでいた。
2. 貪欲さは望ましい特徴ではありません。
3. 犬は欲しそうに骨を食べました。
