本ブログでは、趣味で洋楽を鑑賞する際に、「歌詞の中の語彙をピックアップし、派生語や関連語を学ぶ」という試みを行っています。
あくまでも「趣味の一環」ですので、IELTSの学習時間とは分けて取り組んでください！
それでは本日もボキャブラリーレッスン、始めていきます！
1. 文学的な歌詞とガレージロックの衝動。
今回はParquet Courtsの「Total Football」を使用していきます！
実は昨年11月のブログでも紹介しているバンドです。
ニューヨークを拠点に活動するParquet Courtsは、「ポストパンクの鋭さ」と「ガレージロックの衝動」「ディスコやハウスのような音楽ジャンル」が絶妙にブレンドされたバンドです。
文学的でユーモアの効いた歌詞が絡み合い、社会批評的な視点を持ちながらも、肩肘を張らないスタイルが特徴です。
今回の楽曲は、彼ららしい権力への皮肉が凝縮されていて、疾走感あふれるビートと鋭いギターリフが特徴です。

ancientness（名）：古さ、古風さ、古代性

【意味】

③fluidity
fluidity（名）：《物理・化学》流動性、《物理・化学》流動度［率］、〔動きなどの〕滑らかさ、円滑さ
fluid（名）：《物理・化学》流体、〔一般に〕液体、流動物、水分
fluidly（副）：流動的に
【文章例】
1. fluidity（名）：The fluidity of her movements impressed the judges.
2. fluid（名）：The fluid movement of the dancers was mesmerizing to watch.
3. fluidly（副）：He adapted fluidly to the new environment, quickly learning the local customs and language.
【意味】
1. 彼女の動きの流れるように滑らかな動きに審判たちは感心しました。
2. ダンサーたちの流れるような動きは、見とれてしまうほど美しかった。
3. 彼は新しい環境に柔軟に適応し、すぐに現地の習慣や言語を学んだ。
