1. 混沌を操る音の錬金術師
今回はThe Mars Voltaの「Cygnus….Vismund Cygnus」を使用していきます！
2001年に「At The Drive-In 」というエモ・ポストハードコアバンドが活動休止を発表した後、そのバンドのメンバーのセドリック・ビクスラーとオマー・ロドリゲスによって結成されました。
プログレ、ラテン、ジャズ、パンクなど、様々な音楽要素をミックスした独特の世界観が魅力です。
複雑で激しくスリリングな展開の曲が多いので、ちょっと変わった音楽を聴いてみたい、という方にはぴったりのバンドです！
今回の曲は10分以上の長いですが、展開が多く、一曲を聞いているとは思えない感覚になります！笑
また、メンバーの中にプエルトリコ出身の人がいることも影響してか、歌詞にスペイン語が混ざっているのも特徴です。

①perception
perception（名）：〔感覚器官による〕知覚、認知、知見、見識、感じ方
perceptive（形）：知覚（力）の、認知（力）の、〔人が〕知覚が鋭い、察しが速い、敏感な
perceptively（副）：見る見るうちに、知覚できるほどに、鋭敏に
【文章例】
1. perception（名）：Each witness had a different perception of what had happened.
2. perceptive（形）：She’s a perceptive child who sees and understands everything.
3. perceptively（副）：The teacher explained the concept perceptively.
【意味】
1. 目撃者はそれぞれ、何が起きたかについて異なる認識を持っていました。
2. 彼女は見て全てを理解する鋭敏な子どもです。
3. 先生は概念を的確に説明した。
②languish
languish（動）：〔人や動植物が〕衰える、やつれる、しおれる、〔人が恋人などを〕恋い焦がれる、思いやつれる
languishment（名）：衰弱、無気力、やつれ、悲嘆
languid（形）：元気［活気］がない、弱々しい、物憂い、気だるい、無頓着な
【文章例】
1. languish（動）：She languished in prison for years.
2. languishment（名）：She’s a perceptive child who sees and understands everything.
3. languid（形）：He moved with a languid grace.
【意味】
1. 彼女は長年刑務所で苦しんでいました。
2. 彼女は見て全てを理解する鋭敏な子どもです。
3. 彼は慣れない優雅さで動きました。
③brittle
brittle（形）：〔物が硬いが〕もろい、壊れやすい、〔関係などが〕不安定な、〔態度・口調などが〕冷たい
embrittle（動）：～を砕けやすくする
brittleness（名）：もろさ、脆弱性、脆性
【文章例】
1. brittle（形）：Be careful when you handle the brittle glassware.
2. embrittle（動）：Extreme cold can embrittle metal.
3. brittleness（名）：One of the disadvantages of using this material is its brittleness.
【意味】
1. 脆いガラス製品を扱うときは注意して。
2. 極度の冷気は金属をもろくすることがある。
3. この素材の欠点の一つは、その脆さです。
