1. 1981年結成のニューヨーク出身のバンド
今回はSonic Youthの「Teenage Riot」を使用していきます！
1980年代以降におけるアメリカのインディーシーンにおいて、ノイズパンクの雄として君臨。後のグランジ、オルタナティヴ・ロックムーヴメントへ大きな影響を与えました。
ジャンルとしては、ノイズロック、グランジ、オルタナに分類され、
ギターボーカルのサーストン・ムーアは「エレキ・ギターを聴くということはノイズを聞くこと」との持論があり、ギターノイズだけの曲、ポエトリー・リーディングのような曲など、実験的な曲も多い。
自分でオリジナルのコードを考えたり変則的チューニングを多用したり、バイオリンの弓でギターを弾いたりと特殊なプレイが多いことでも知られています。
今回紹介する曲は、彼らの楽曲の中でも特に聴きやすいものです！

①dismiss
dismiss（動）：〔集会などを〕解散させる、〔雇い主が従業員を〕解雇する、免職する、解任する、追放する
dismissal（名）：〔人の〕免職、解職、解雇
dismissive（形）：〔人・物事について〕真剣に［真面目に］考えない、否定的な、拒否する（ような）
【文章例】
1. dismiss（動）：The coach dismissed the team after a tough practice.
2. dismissal（名）：He faced dismissal from his job due to poor performance.
3. dismissive（形）：The boss was dismissive of the employee’s suggestion.
【意味】
1. コーチはきつい練習の後、チームを解散させた。
2. 彼の業績不振が原因で解雇されることになりました。
3. 上司は社員の提案を軽んじた。
②exaltation
exaltation（名）：高めること、称賛、昇進、有頂天、精神的高揚
exalt（動）：〔～を〕高める、昇進させる、〔～を〕得意にさせる、〔～を〕高尚にする
exaltedly（副）：地位・身分・評価などが〕高く、高位に、〔人格・文体などが〕気高く、〔人が〕意気揚々と
【文章例】
1. exaltation（名）：The exaltation he felt after winning the race was indescribable.
2. exalt（動）：The singer’s performance exalted the crowd’s spirits.
3. exaltedly（副）：They watched exaltedly as the soldiers took the oath.
【意味】
1. 彼がレースに勝利した後の喜びは言葉では表せなかった。
2. 歌手のパフォーマンスが観客の気持ちを高めた。
3. 兵士たちが宣誓するのを見て、彼らは感激しました。
③riot
riot（名）：暴動、騒動、反乱、一揆
rioter（名）：暴徒、暴民
riotous（形）：暴動の（ような）、〔人が〕暴徒となった、暴動を起こす、大騒ぎの、騒々しい
【文章例】
1. riot（名）：There was a riot outside the stadium after the football match.
2. rioter（名）：The police arrested several rioters.
3. riotous（形）：The riotous crowd caused chaos in the streets.
【意味】
1. サッカーの試合後、スタジアムの外で暴動が起きました。
2. 警察は数人の暴徒を逮捕しました。
3. 騒ぎ立てる群衆が街で混乱を引き起こした。
