3月に入りましたね！

1. 日常に寄り添う。オーストラリア出身の5人組バンド
今回は、Rolling Blackouts Coastal Feverの「Mainland」を使用していきます。
実は2回ほど紹介しているバンドです！
ギターのフレーズ絡み合っていて、留まることがないようなリズムが特徴の楽曲が多いです。
個人的にですが、オーストラリアの風景を思わせるメロディと少年のような面を持ち合わせながら、どこか哀愁が漂う印象があります。
要はとてもいいバンドです。笑

2. Mainlandの歌詞
今回使用するボキャブラリーにも、太字アンダーラインをし、派生語・関連語を紹介していきます。

①servant
servant（名）：〔家事を行う〕召使い、使用人
service（名）：サービス、点検、修理、役に立つこと、奉仕、世話、貢献、尽力
servile（形）：卑屈な（ほど服従する）、こびへつらう、奴隷状態の［に関する］、卑しむべき
【文章例】
1. servant（名）：The servant prepared dinner for the family every evening.
2. service（名）：The restaurant provides excellent service to its customers.
3. servile（形）：He was disgusted because of his servile attitude toward other members.
【意味】
1. その使い人は毎晩、家族のために夕食を準備しました。
2. そのレストランはお客様に素晴らしいサービスを提供しています。
3. 彼は他のメンバーに対して卑屈な態度を取るので軽蔑された。
②desire
desire（動）：～が欲しいと強く思う、～であることを切望する［強く願う］、〔～を〕要求［依頼］する
desirable（形）：〔所有・獲得するのに〕望ましい、好ましい、〔実行・達成する〕価値のある
desirous（形）：〔～を〕とても欲しがって、望んで
【文章例】
1. desire（動）：She desires to travel the world.
2. desirable（形）：Being physically active is desirable for our health.
3. desirous（形）：He is desirous of a better life.
【意味】
1. 彼女は世界を旅することを望んでいます。
2. 健康のために身体を動かすことは望ましい。
3. 彼はより良い生活を求めている。
③merge
merge（動）：〔徐々に複数のものを〕混合させる、融合させる
mergence（名）：結合、併合
demerge（動）：〔企業内の部門を分離して〕分社化する、分離する
【文章例】
1. merge（動）：Our company merged with another company.
2. mergence（名）：The mergence of two companies resulted in a stronger market presence.
3. demerge（動）：The government approved the plan to demerge the state-owned enterprise into smaller units.
【意味】
1. 私たちの会社は他の会社と合併しました。
2. 2社の統合により、市場での存在感が強まった。
3. 政府は国営企業をより小さな部門に分離する計画を承認した。
