趣味を勉強に～音楽好きの英語学習～
みなさんこんにちは！はるゆきです！
みなさんIELTSの学習は捗っておりますでしょうか。
どうしても捗らないときは、息抜きの方法を探すのも一つの手ですね。
息抜きや、暇つぶしとして「学習と趣味を同時にやる」という試みは、はじめは懸念がありましたが、結果として英語学習に対しても、音楽に対しても良い方向に働いているような気がします。
趣味の時間も全て学習に割くことが出来れば、良いのですが、、
→注：息抜きで取り組む分には良いとは思いますが、学習時間はしっかり別で設けていきましょう。
意外と良い息抜きになりますし、英語の勉強にもなるし、好きな曲・アーティストの事をもっと好きになれますね＾＾
それでは本日も始めていきましょう！
1. オアフ島生まれのダンディーボイス。
今回はJack Johnsonの「Better Together」を使用していきます。
アメリカ、ハワイ州オアフ島生まれの彼は「シンガーソングライター、俳優、ドキュメンタリー映画製作者、元プロサーファー」という多岐にわたる肩書を持っています。
大学時代にドキュメンタリーを作成し高い評価を受けましたが、特に評判だったのが、彼自身が作曲した作中のBGMだそうです。
楽曲全体を通して、島生まれの雰囲気が前面に出ていて、心地よい声とテンポで曲を奏でてくれます。
歌詞の内容を知らずとも、温かい気持ちになれますよ。
リラックスには最適です。
個人的に思い入れもあり、フィリピンに留学していたころ、よく浜辺や近くのBarでJack Johnsonの曲を演奏していたことはとても良い思い出です。

①made out of
～で作られている
【文章例】
I’m made out of machine.
【意味】
私は機械でできている。
使用するときは「be動詞＋made out of~」でいきましょう！
②how come
どうして、なぜ
【文章例】
How come you think that it’s my fault?
【意味】
どうして私のせいにするの？
Whyにも「どうして、なぜ」という意味がありますね。
ここで意味の違いや使い方を見ていきましょう。

| 意味 | 驚いた時や、今その時の気持ちを表す「なぜ？」に使う。疑問以外の意味はない。 | 理由を知りたい「なぜ？」すべてに使える。提案などの意味もあり。 |
③under the impression (that)
(that 以下だと) 思い込む
【文章例】
I am under the impression that he is not feeling well.
【意味】
彼は具合が悪いのではないかと思います。
主語＋be動詞＋under the impression (that)で使用していきましょう。
事実とは関係なく思ったこととして「上から目線」や押し付けがましさを感じさせずに、抱いた印象を上手に述べるための表現です。
